At the Red Herring ATRE ‘07 event, looking forward to a very exciting next two days!
I write this blog from the Taj Lands End cafe before I get into a very exciting evening, the Red Herring ATRE ‘07 event in the next hour.
The ATRE is a global technology summit that connects over 300 leaders from 35 countries will gather at Mumbai, India today and tomorrow to talk, interact, share and collaborate on Asia today and especially tomorrow? This promises to be a very exciting event over the next two evenings with speakers ranging from Steve Ballmer of Microsoft to Pramod Haque of NVP and Kris Gopalakrishnan from Infosys and Ramadorai of TCS.

Being here as a panel member and speaker on Web 3.0 will be interesting, a topic I picked because my personal understanding of business and technology and what I see as the next opportunity, the “Last Mile” of a business ecosystem of businesses and consumers all in a web of Content, Community, Collaboration, Services and Infrastructure.
Why is it my personal belief that this is the next great opportunity? Simple look around you in any economy from the G8 to other emerging economies, the last mile is what no one is focusing on and where today’s economics of business and technology don’t play out. It will take a lot of today’s technologies, some of tomorrow’s and definitely tomorrow’s business models for this to happen.
Will post my takeaway of the interesting ideas and minds I met and interacted with at this event sometime this week and let you know what presumably some of the smartest global business leaders and tech industry’s brightest think. Have a nice week ahead!
