Sriram- you have just posted something which I have been propogating through this blog for some time.

Spontaneous capturing of the impact, meeting and the subject.
Leadership - born or made is what is debated for centuries. Thing is simple, it is made by efforts which are persistent, focussed with sense of urgency. Exceptions are Leaders borne. 80% are made, nurtured by younger days upbringing and eco system.

HCL story of producing leaders is well known due to eco system created by legend Shiv Nadar, who is still creating ripples with his deadly aggressivness.

Now that you have done this service of sharing, let us apply leadership and learning to create a wider community amongst SMEs to promote such EAGLEness. Indian SMEs deserves it.

I have written on Organizational quality as well as on challenges of emerging cos......more is coming up in the blog...Come on...let us find ways of leveraging blog with Eagle like focus through our leadership, if we can

I am sure we can

Interesting read Sriram.

Talking on leadership reminds me on my trek to BR Hills in Karnataka. As the trek became steeper and steeper, I started breathing heavy and my muscles got tightened.

I was struggling and looking for excuses to stop. Probably to give it up altogether. I looked up and there was a way lot to go. I asked myself, am I helping myself here or sabotaging. Becasue every thought of 'I can't' is like adding extra weight on my shoulders. Say I was adding 5kgs weight on every 'negative thought' I entertained.

The I decided to walk forward with a steay goal to reach the hill top but more importantly with a engaged focus on the next 10 metres or so. Once I reached that, it was like throwing a 5 kgs weight off from my shoulders. So as I trekked up, and reached subsequent reach goals, the weight on my shoulders reduced. It made me light and I reached the peak successfully.

That was a big lesson. Think positive. Set your mind on the big picture and the eyes on the rungs.
