This was a very good summary. I have read the book and I believe it is must read for anyone involved in the Business of Software. It is always confusion if Software business is close to Manufacturing business or Services business :-)

I will add one more point to that:
- Even the \&#039;products\&#039; based companies with the passing time become \&#039;Services\&#039; companies...  from Revenue split point of view. Unless they have continuous stream of new product launches. Microsoft, Autodesk are exception. Look SAP, Business Objects (some other companies the author quotes in his book) that started as product companies but now derive most of their revenuew form Services now
