E-governance: The road less travelled
Mark Twain famously said, “I was seldom able to see an opportunity until it had ceased to be one.” Unlike Twain, Prakash Rane, the chief promoter of ABM Knowledgeware, sniffed the opportunity that existed in the e-governance sector early on. At a time when the use of IT in governance was limited, Prakash ventured into the field of e-Governance.
Putting Pen to Paper
Companies changing websites/collateral start with the best of intentions but run into one constant problem. Almost in every website overhaul project we have worked on, this roadblock has reared its head: senior executives can’t – or simply won’t – find the time to contribute to whitepapers, case studies, blogs or even product collateral. The CEO may want a website that emphasizes his company’s thought leadership, but if the leadership down the line isn’t contributing there is not much the website creators can do! In this edition of Bang for the Buck, we look at strategies that can not just take the horse to water, but help it drink
The Mc-D model
I was browsing my favorite newspaper, “the Wall Street Journal” and I came across this piece of news which sort of stopped me for a moment – “Your Bad luck is a windfall for airlines” and what I gathered is that your ticket cancellation, preponement, postponement or any such arrangements yields airlines a whopping $2 billion a year, much more than what they earn for baggage services and a simple search shows that a typical airlines makes around $15 billion. So if you add all these ticket alteration revenues, baggage revenues and all other value added service revenues, I am sure will come to a huge % of the total revenues but still one perceives that airline makes most of its money via the ticket sales.

In a constrained market situation where budgets have been slashed across the board, the trick is to look at marketing initiatives that can done with little or no cost – or, at best on incremental cost basis, but which still deliver sales traction. That may sound like a task for Hercules, but it’s actually not that difficult. In this edition of Bang for the Buck we lay out four ideas to get you started.
“To attend a Tradefair or not?” that is the question
First of all sorry for being on a long hiatus from the blog world. Various reasons, most important was my long trip to US to meet various leads and clients and that took pretty much all of my time to prepare and present etc and then as soon as I was back, there were few clients visiting us and all my time was gone there but should not have been a reason to keep away from Blog
Leveraging expertise to plan growth
When you have an exciting product in a burgeoning market, everything points towards good growth prospects. But the best of companies and teams sometimes requires an extra helping hand, an additional thinking brain. Such was the case with Saigun Technologies, which was growing well but perhaps not to its complete potential. So Tushar Bhatia, Founder and President, turned to NASSCOM’s mentorship program, which helped him shape his strategies and give direction to his growth path.
