EMERGEOUT Conclave
Build, sustain and scale up the “Product” Eco-System
The NASSCOM Product Conclave for 27th & 28th October in Bangalore is shaping up quite well and we thought it would be interesting to share with you some of the ideas, that would be deliberated upon, what with the stellar line of speakers that we have lined up for you.
On Building the product:
Cloud has huge potential in India’s SMBs
INDIA–The country’s small and midsize businesses (SMBs) can benefit from cloud computing, which would also provide computing to the next billion IT users, said delegates at Nasscom’s third EmergeOut Conclave.
Kishore Madhyam, CEO of ImpelCRM said: “The Indian market for cloud computing is huge.” There are 8 million SMBs in India with around 35 million employees and 10 million potential users of cloud computing, he said during a session at the Indian IT trade association’s conclave held Friday in New Delhi.
The cloud with the SILVER Lining (Valedictory Session)
Dr. Anand Deshpande (MD & CEO, Persistent) started the session by welcoming the audience for the last session. As always, it’s difficult to keep the audience on their seats for the last session. Yet, the hall was jam packed. Without taking any time, Dr Anand handed over to Dr Jai Menon (Directory – Tech & Customer Service, Bharti Airtel and Group CIO, Bharti Enterprises), who otherwise needs no introduction.
Small is BIG: Re-Inventing Business Models which will work for India
A session immediately after the tea or coffee doesn’t need too much of awakening introductions. Moreover the title “Small is BIG” was interesting enough to fill the hall to its capacity.

Top 5 Reasons to Attend the Cloud Computing Conclave in New Delhi on 28th August 2009
These are interesting times we live in, not only challenged by uncertainty but also enthused by immense opportunities. As we continue to plan for future, we have to work out a strategy, including technology, capable of bringing about a change to the very way we do business. With emerging markets and newer verticals coming to the fore, usage of technology would also undergo a radical shift, as we usher in the “pay as you use” model. We believe, progressively, Cloud Computing and its ilk would gain prominence amongst the user circles. When we conceptualised EMERGEOUT 2009 for New Delhi, we kept in mind the dynamic environment and how the emerging companies in particular, may be affected. Riding successfully on the two earlier editions, which were more generic in nature, we are ready once again to explore new horizons but with a more niche focus.

Leveraging expertise to plan growth
When you have an exciting product in a burgeoning market, everything points towards good growth prospects. But the best of companies and teams sometimes requires an extra helping hand, an additional thinking brain. Such was the case with Saigun Technologies, which was growing well but perhaps not to its complete potential. So Tushar Bhatia, Founder and President, turned to NASSCOM’s mentorship program, which helped him shape his strategies and give direction to his growth path.
The NASSCOM EMERGE 50 listing announced..
When we embarked on the journey a couple of months back, we thought of creating a platform, which would enable the Emerging IT companies to showcase their unique value proposition and create a distinct niche for themselves. It has indeed been a tough job for the jury members and NASSCOM for selecting the 50 emerging companies.
