Friday's 2.0

The Mc-D model

I was browsing my favorite newspaper, “the Wall Street Journal” and I came across this piece of news which sort of stopped me for a moment – “Your Bad luck is a windfall for airlines” and what I gathered is that your ticket cancellation, preponement, postponement or any such arrangements yields airlines a whopping $2 billion a year, much more than what they earn for baggage services and a simple search shows that a typical airlines makes around $15 billion. So if you add all these ticket alteration revenues, baggage revenues and all other value added service revenues, I am sure will come to a huge % of the total revenues but still one perceives that airline makes most of its money via the ticket sales.

Transforming India Through Technology – session with Bill Gates

billgatesMicrosoft, Windows and Bill Gates are actually synonymous. When we think computers, the first word that comes to mind is any of these three, and not necessarily in that order. In spite of our best efforts, last minutes registrations were unavoidable and the enthusiasm exhibited by the executives, trying to catch a glimpse of the iconic figure, was nothing short of electrifying.
