Standard Chartered Hosts TechExpo 2010 – A platform for EMERGING Technology Companies to Showcase Innovation

emerge product showcaseThe NASSCOM EMERGE community takes a giant step forward in a new direction by organizing a forum for emerging companies offering innovative BFSI solutions to pitch directly to a Global Bank – Standard Chartered. This first of its kind Product Showcase will take place in Chennai on February 3rd  2010 and is a direct result of the NASSCOM EMERGE Product CIO Showcase held during the NASSCOM Product Conclave last year. The event is being jointly organized by NASSCOM and the CIO Association.

12 Product companies to be showcased to the CIOs at the NASSCOM Product Conclave 2009

When we embarked on the journey a couple of weeks back, we thought of creating a platform, which would enable the Product Start-ups and Emerging companies to showcase their products to the CIO Community. We partnered with partnered with CIO Association of India for this initiative.It has indeed been a tough job for the selection committee members and NASSCOM for selecting the 12 companies for the NASSCOM EMERGE Product Showcase. The bigger challenge of course was selecting the parameters on which the applicants would be judged, to enable a fair and objective verdict. Some of the parameters looked by the jury when they ranked the companies are:

Indian Software Industry has come of age. With the Indian companies now moving quite up in the value chain. And global software services majors often citing strategy decisions to better the Indian Sis. But is all well? Isnt much of this vibrant eco-system just a software-services’ factory for the world? How much of this is long-term value creation? How much of this is IP and innovation led? Isn’t this the next wave that will also provide long-term sustainability for the industry? If so, why are there so few software product companies?
